lyrics

These are the eyes of the boy who witnessed and helped with the building of this village. The bricks and the cement were love and generosity, foundations that were so simple and honest. He started every day with a smile and a so called purpose, without the understanding he was handcuffed and blindfolded.

The ones they had chosen to lead them were preaching for progression while pulling the strings of their minds beneath the table. The walls around him were getting higher, blocking the view of other new places.

Every year filled his heart with doubt but his head was possessed with comfort. As he got older things changed, the small houses turned into buildings, that casted a never ending shadow upon the ones who chose to flee from this sealed city.

The city’s hunger was only growing, craving to become an empire. Appending its surroundings, the lands of his neighbors became his backyard. He just stood there and watched as the lambs grew vicious teeth. He just stood there and watched as the weak paid strangers to make them optimistic.

He felt taller than the pillars that supported his world. But the champagne started to taste fucking bitter to him. The smoke of cigars and his bedroom’s sheets of silk started to suffocate him. Time is up, you can barely move with all the daggers that have now reached you spine. You and your people have caused this disaster. You can’t play with matches when your sight is flawed. The burning gold now feeds his eyes, the sparks finally ignite his mind.
